James "Bud" Bottoms was a native Californian who lived in Santa Barbara and was passionately committed to protecting and preserving its natural environment and historical architecture. His works range from small bronze to large public monuments and memorials. One of his most famous installations is the Dolphin Family Fountain at the entrance of Santa Barbara's Stearns Wharf, considered by many to be the symbol of Santa Barbara.
Most of Bud's sculptures are limited edition.

James "Bud" Bottoms passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home and surrounded by love in the early morning of September 23, 2018. He is swimming with dolphins; he is flying with eagles; he is walking with the Ancestors. He is off sculpting the clouds and re-arranging the stars, but he also lives on in our hearts. His art is his beautiful legacy to the world that remains with us into the future and continues to be available for purchase.
